Bowski is a bit like Kincade, guided by something into creating the sketches and colorful art. Where Kincade claims to be guided by “God’s light” into producing those dreamy little landscapes, you’d have to admit that something a bit more quirky guides Bowski’s hand which offers up something a little less dreamlike but far more visually interesting, with a light all its own. .
Bowski’s luminous vibrant colors will leave your mind a far distance from anything remotely resembling serenity. His drawings, with their extreme coloration and a nearly acerbic leaning will call to mind something a lot more extreme, a lot more exciting than the traditional painter might offer you.
Bowski’s images, from tie dyed Care Bear © types to skeletal images out of a horror movie, literally “pop” off the page and grab your attention. His illustrations, in most cases inspired by musical selections, which in his words, range from “Trance to Bluegrass” leave you curious about what impels them, interested in seeing more, and sometimes amused. The drawings of Bowski won’t leave you dreaming of golden pastures, but they will never leave you bored.
Hailing from Beckley West Virginia, his earthy background mingles with the training in Florida to produce some art pieces that delight and often overwhelm the senses.
